Damon McDougal is a state prosecutor and former defense attorney with particular expertise in courtroom proceedings and jury trials. Damon has tried dozens of significant cases on behalf of the government, and routinely works with investigators from various state agencies to investigate and prosecute violations of law. While a defense attorney, Damon earned victories at trial for numerous clients, including a consecutive string of four jury acquittals over a two-year period in Essex County, New Jersey.
Prior to joining the Health Law Alliance, Damon worked as a criminal defense attorney for nearly a decade, serving clients in federal and state court matters. Damon previously worked as in-house counsel for the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, and as a litigation associate for a large New Jersey law firm.
Damon earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Environmental Law Journal. Damon attended Stanford University, graduating with a B.A. in History as a scholar-athlete for the Division I varsity football team, including three years under legendary coach Bill Walsh. His personal interests include swimming, hiking, and collegiate athletics.
